Metaphysical and physical rain☔️ (Nov 9, 2015)

Monday- we had a great day. We saw Tamra and made dinner with her.
After we had a great lesson with her. We read out of the Book of
Mormon  and were able to hopefully show her that even through rough
times the Book of Mormon will only help her and five her the strength
to keep going. Then we swung by and saw Chris and were able to talk to
him about baptism. We put him on date for December 19 to be baptized.
It was a really cool lesson and I honestly believe he is going to make
it. Everyone pray super hard!!

Tuesday- we had Aton going on and really a lot going on this whole
week! Today was trainer training meeting. It felt like just yesterday
I was going to this meeting with my trainer. It's crazy how time flies
and how quick things can change. It was an awesome day filled with
inspired things I needed to hear. We drove home and took a couple
minutes to trackt before dinner and then we went to dinner with the
croalls. We had gotten a text from Chris again saying if we had time
he would like us to come over. We did and we talked about baptism and
read 3 nephi 11. Joni shared her conversion story and the lesson was
powerful.

Wednesday- we had exchanges and it was awesome. I learned a lot from
sister singleton. We talked to Kelly about going to the temple and
getting her patriarchal blessing. She is getting it this Sunday! I am
so pumped! I know how much this will help her, strengthen her, show
her her worth, show her her importance in this gospel and give her
that boast in times of need and on the path to getting to the temple.
We also saw Sonide and sat down and showed her about Christ and how we
can stay in the light. We read from the Book of Mormon and she is
going to young women's tonight as well. She loves it and I finally
think she is in a good place to start taking the lessons again. We saw
John tonight as well and we attempted to show him that will will never
know everything in this life time, but he knows enough to take that
next step to be baptized! He didn't take it the way we had intended. I
was bummed, but he said to not give up on him so I'm not. God I know
isn't either! We tried to go see a less active, but he was already
asleep so we talked to his parents. One is a convert and the other has
been a member his whole life. They got married in our church, but have
not gone to the temple. Their family is not sealed. It broke my heart.
They are so inactive that they know nothing about the temple. I tired
to bring it up, but either of them were interested. I am so grateful
for the knowledge I have about temples, this gospel, and how this life
affects the life to come. We all need to be trying our best now to
become like our father and take those steps to one day bask in his
presence. Just like alma said," don't procrastinate your repentance."
If we don't have the desire on this earth to repent and become, we
will not when we die.

Thursday- we met with Jim lee, one of our new investigators. We had an
awesome lesson with him. We talked about the restoration and I brought
up baptism. He said he had actually been thinking about it. I was so
nervous, but is was a very positive concept in his mind. He is so
smart and has that faith to act and find out for himself. We have good
vibes that he will start coming to church. We saw Marsha today with
Joni. She seemed different and when I invited her to come to church
this week she said no and that she didn't want to come at all. It
broke my heart because she LOVED the building. I know she will take
time and I am praying for her. We went to tamra's and did service for
her. We made progress on our trust building relationship. I was able
to whack away my frustration with the machete and we were able to get
to know her more. She has definitely changed and she is more happy
which makes me happy. We tried to go by Duran's home, we saw him,but
he seemed different. He told us he didn't feel good and to call him
later to set up an appointment. When we did he said he is just too
busy right now and that he will call us when he has some free time.
That really hurt. But he has to be baptized for the right reasons, so
the ball is in his court now which brings me peace. We tracked around
his area and met some really awesome people! We stopped by to see
James Davis and I am super pumped about his re-activation. He really
feels the spirit when he is around us and he wants to come to church!
We saw carol and tried to see Marie. Carl has defiantly changed in not
a good way. He wants to come back to church, but he isn't doing
anything about it. I feel like he feels he is too far gone to ever
come back, but we all know that isn't ever the case. I just pray and
keep sending love his way through fellowship and daily contact.
Hopefully he will start coming around.

Friday- we saw Kassi today and she told us she wants to read the whole
Book of Mormon. We were like SWEET! Let's read it with you. She texted
us the other day and she is almost through 1 nephi haha I have a lot
to catch up on I guess. She is just the sweetest. We need to start
teaching her he lessons because she is reading and coming to church.
Then we saw Betty and set ourselves up to come back and teach her. She
is another person that wants to do what's right but doesn't want to
change. She sees how happy we are and the light in our eyes. I hope
that will be the drive to let us come back and hopefully she will
start opening up her heart to feeling the spirit and then having that
faith to act on the desire to change. We went and saw Chris again with
Jan and noa Jr. They are both from our ward. We had a great lesson
with Chris and all I can pray for is that he has true intents, that he
feels the spirit, that he acts on our invitations and that he gains a
testimony for himself.

Saturday- we went tracking in the morning in the pouring rain. It was
so fun and we just got drenched. We tired to see Davey and that didn't
work. And Yuki won't call us back. She has missed her appointment
three times now. I am very nervous. We met with a less active named
Steve. We met with him last week and we took brother Collins with us
this week. We tired to get Steve to come to church. He said he didn't
want to promise anything and that he hated breaking commitments and
such. I went right on with that excuse of a phrase and told him he was
breaking the promises and commitments (covenants) he had made with God
at baptism. Needless to say that was all the sprit and it really got
him thinking. I have hopes he will come when he is ready. We saw Huda
today and talked with her kids about God again. They remembered
everything we talked with them last week and one of the little girls
even said the prayer by herself. I was so proud! We talked about Jesus
Christ and that hens our brother. We talked about how God loves us all
and we taught them the song, I am a child of God. These songs are from
God. They have power, power enough to bring them to people's
remembrance even their father who,had been less active for years. I
was touched by these simple primary songs. They teach people so much
truth and help kids understand so much. Huda wants her kids to come to
church. We also set up a time to meet with her next week by herself in
hopes that we can start teaching her! I am excited. We had a meeting
with brother Collins because sister staker and I are teaching the 5th
Sunday lesson to the youth about missionary work. We are so excited!

Sunday- we had a couple really awesome things happen...... 1. Mary and
investigator who I heard didn't want to talk to us came to church
alone without her boyfriend who is a member. My mouth dropped. After
sacrament meeting she came up to us and told us we could call her and
start teaching her (basically). Again I was stunned. 2. Davey walked
in with his entire family. He pulled us aside and said he and his wife
had a serious talk and he is going to start making the effort in
meeting with us regularly. I was also so surprised and just felt the
power behind his words. I am going to see him in white and what he him
and his family go through the temple. 3. Kelly got her patriarchal
blessing. It was so powerful and she then promised us she was going to
be off coffee and her vapor by the 27th and the 1st. She is so willing
to give stuff (worldly things) up to get to the temple! I am so
excited for her.

God is real. He loves us. He knows us. And he wants us to be happy. He
never will give up on us and if we really watch we can see his hand in
our lives daily. He is in the very details of it all. Pray for the
Holy Ghost to help you in anything and everything. He will be you
constant guide if you are worthy and let him in. Pray for his strength
and his trust that as you live your life he will put people in your
path that you can touch or that they can touch you. This is the only
true and restored gospel on this earth today and I am so grateful to
be apart of it. I love my God and my savior. Keep living your lives In
a way that a-lines with gods will. He will bless you and show you your
full potential. I will never be able to write into words my full
testimony because it is feelings and experiences that cannot be
described into words. I know that as we strive to become like our
Heavenly Father we can learn and grow and one day become like him.
This gospel is so simple yet so deep and powerful. I am so great full
everyday to be able to study this gospel and let the spirit teach me.
Have a great week everyone! Thanks for all your support!
