Week 10 (Nov 23, 2016)

Monday
Pday - we played a bunch of games and I loved it. Other than getting
nailed in the face!We had a bunch of cancellations. So we got to go
tracting. Sadly we didn't find anyone. We also got to visit people
that needed it. It was good.

Tuesday
Our district leader gave us a goal (I took it as a challenge ;) to
commit two people to baptism. We thought he was crazy and that we
would never be able to do it. But we did it today! Jim committed to
baptism for the middle of January. I hate that they pick a date so far
away!! But guess what! It poured buckets today! I mean I can't even
describe it was crazy!!! But I wish it rains that hard every day
because tracting was Huge success!!! Every door we knocked, "oh you
poor things, come in!" Okay that's fine. We only got to knock like 5
doors though I was so disappointed. But one we knocked and she ushered
us immediately. She is the elect!!!! Honestly. It was so awesome! She
is looking for a church, her husband just died (that's sad but good
kinda....) she is adopting two other children, and no has to work! And
she said please come over and she is looking for a church! Wayoooooo
baby! Please let it pour everyday because I have no idea if we would
have gotten In otherwise!

Wednesday
We got to teach Peter and Katie today! They are the Russian family
that we tracked into them. That was interesting! He wouldn't really
let us say anything he has sooo many questions! We said "book of
Mormon" and there went 45 minutes. But that's okay we talked all about
what the Book of Mormon is and where it came from. Peter is a little
bit confused, he couldn't grasp the fact that Jesus would come to the
Americas. So we are trying to figure that out. But I know this gospel
can help them. I don't know if it's their time yet, but they want us
to come back. We also are teaching the youth the fifth Sunday lesson
and they asked us to come to mutual. They did a lesson on
togetherness. They had two teams that each cooked a dinner and we had
go judge between the two and then we gave a testimony on togetherness.
It was really fun. Sister Richards did a ranch mustache and talked in
a really deep voice. I got a ranch goatee  and talked in a British
accent. It was a lot of fun. I love being with the youth. However we
did lose our phone....

Thursday
We found our phone, it was in sister Richards bag! Hahahaha! Oh! Funny
story, we were at the church in the morning to sync our iPads (we have
to sync our schedules) and we ran into the elders there. Our district
leader elder Shamy, and his companion elder Bradford (I haven't
figured out if we are related or not. But he is from surprise
Arizona). But their car was broken and in the shop and guess what, it
was raining again. (It's like this most rain, you don't feel it but if
you stand there too long you get plenty wet.) but the thing was elder
Shamy didn't have his raincoat because it was in the back of his car.
So we tried to give him sister Richards coat because hers is black,
but of course she is a little thing and it didn't fit him. So we gave
him my bright red one. Oh dear it was super funny! But it he needed it
and we had a car! So I will send you that picture! But today was
mission tour! So we had a general authority come and we did the
mission in halves and we got to hear from Elder Johnson of the 70. It
was exciting. I have realized that those meetings are so crucial, they
just make it easier because they break up the days. Not necessarily
something to look forward to but it's nice to have something
different. He was interesting, he didn't want us to take notes during
his talk, he said that we wouldn't listen truly. So that was
interesting. He talked about if we don't teach with the spirit then we
are nothing. Which is true, but he said the elect will hear gods
voice, and follow. And that can happen through us, but only if we have
the spirit. He also spent a lot of time talking about dropping the
people who are ready. So that was a good reminder. I was also selected
to be interviewed by elder Johnson so we stayed after. Afterwords we
had about an hour, so we swung by Peter & Katie's. They had invited us
over for cake because Katie had ordered a huge one. They said we
couldn't come over next week to teach them if we didn't come have
cake. IT WAS THE NASTIEST THING. It was layers upon layers of
condensed milk. And like graham crackers or something. It was
absolutely gross. I have never had to choke something down so hard.
Then they cut us a HUGE piece and told us to take it home. We gave it
to elder Bradford (because he eats everything!) and he took one bite
and threw it away so fast. Gah! I never want to eat that again!

Friday - we had a busy schedule ahead and we had little time to do
weekly planning. We met with Jim lee and had an amazing lesson with
him about baptism and the plan of salvation. He is coming on a church
tour this next week and we are just praying that  once we get him in
the church he will be overcome with the spirit. Then we had a lesson
with Mary a new investigator. She has been investigating the church
for three years and she wants to get baptized and we are really
excited for her. We saw a man and he needed a jump so we were able to
jump his car. The miracle was that he had been waiting for 2 hours to
have someone come help him. We also just by chance had an extra
Russian Book of Mormon in the back seat of our car and

Saturday - we finally saw Davey this morning. We had a come to Jesus
talk. I want him to get baptized so badly and I know how much he will
be blessed if he does so. Poli's are SO LAZY!! I am not giving up on
this stubborn brother of God. We then went and gave Kassi a church
tour. It was awesome and sister staker and I have high hopes for our
Kassi. We also went by and helped the Adams pack because they are
moving in two weeks. I am really bummed they are moving, but I think
it will be a good move for them and we will make sure the missionaries
down in Salem will get in touch with them. We dropped by our new
investigators home. Ryan was there and said he had been waiting all
Wednesday for us to come over ha it was totally my bad. I had lost a
lot of our lessons the week before and we forgot to check with artist
and Ryan to see when our lesson was. We set up a new one with them.

Sunday- we had a Philippine women come check out church with us. we
got her as referral from the guard at the Oregon temple. She was so
cute and knew all the hymns we sung. We also had a random investigator
named Kap. We haven't been in touch with him for awhile and so it was
cool that he just came. We also had Mary there who is on date to be
baptized in two weeks. Not much else happened except for a couple
visits to some less actives and a lesson with a recent convert named
Gabe. He is a teen who was baptized a year ago and he teaches us the
lessons with his friend named Trevor. They are both seniors who remind
me a lot of who I was and how I acted back in the day haha. It amazes
me the growth and the continuous change I have made and will still
make on my mission.
